Meet our Behavior Consultant
Sarah Marren has over 9 years experience as an Animal Behavior Consultant and Professional Dog Trainer. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, an ABTA certified dog trainer, a mentor trainer at Animal Behavior College and the owner of Zen Dog Training & Behavior.
She completed extensive course work in comparative animal behavior, learning theory, behavior modification and neuropsychology. She has attended numerous educational workshops and seminars on animal behavior and continues to further her education.
Sarah has served as the Director of Animal Behavior & Training at the Erie County SPCA. There she was responsible for overseeing numerous obedience classes, behavior evaluations, private counseling for both canine and feline behavior problems, behavior modification and stress reduction programs, and was the instructor for the innovative Teaching Love & Compassion (TLC) program which provided inner-city youth an opportunity to train shelter dogs while learning communication skills, teamwork, anger management and conflict resolution.
Sarah is active in the rescue and rehabilitation of animals and volunteers her time and services to several local organizations.
Sarah shares her home with her daughter, an Australian Shepherd mix, a German Shepherd mix, two cats, a chinchilla, a tree frog and several foster animals.
