Dr. Julia Koenigsberg—better known as Dr. K—joined Brighton Eggert Animal Clinic in 2024 as a relief veterinarian and is now excited to serve as Managing DVM. A graduate of The Ohio State University (BS Animal Science, 2009; DVM, 2020), she was honored with the Excellence in Community Practice award during veterinary school.

Dr. K has practiced small animal medicine in Ohio and New Jersey before settling in Buffalo, her husband’s hometown. Her professional interests include behavior, low-stress handling, and soft tissue surgery.

Outside of work, she enjoys building Legos, reading, and traveling to Disney with her husband and three children. At home, she’s kept company by her three dogs—Bruce, Kevin, and Steve—because she firmly believes pets deserve people names.
