Dr. Mariah Young is from Ontario, Canada. At eight years old, she was firmly decided that she was going to be a veterinarian.

Many years later after obtaining her degree in biomedical sciences, she attended veterinary school at the University of Guelph in Ontario. As a student, she worked in small animal, emergency, and exotic animal hospitals but also enjoyed working in landscaping in the summers. She graduated in 2024 from the mixed animal program for both large and small animal medicine.

When working with small animals, Dr. Young particularly enjoys surgery and prompt care/emergency medicine. She enjoys a fast-paced environment but likes to take the time to make sure each patient gets a good quality of care. She is always interested to learn anything she can to make her a better doctor.

Her family cares for a menagerie of species, but Dr. Young’s special pets are her chickens, ducks and her two overly friendly emus!
